Statistical learning
Statistical learning
Statistical learning is a general methodology of understanding and efficiently managing uncertainty and risks in experiments that involve randomness. We deal with several aspects of statistical learning. One of our main research interests is the estimation of entropy and different divergences between distributions LINK and samples. Our other research interest lies in statistical search theory LINK where learning is used to efficiently predict the information we are going to receive from new observations. This area is closely related to optimal control and Bellman’s dynamic programming. Finally, we have serious interest in the theory of sequential design and its pharmaceutical applications.
